Front Office Medical Assistant

Position Summary:

The Front Office Medical Assistant acts as both an administrator and healthcare professional, performing clinical duties and managing administrative tasks in the front office, exam rooms, and other settings. The Front Office Medical Assistant is instrumental in helping patients feel at ease before and during a medical exam and often explains the physician’s or nurse’s instructions.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Checking in and scheduling patients
  • Updating and filing patient medical records
  • Arranging for imaging and laboratory services
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Faxing medical records
  • Follow up with patients
  • Taking medical histories
  • Updating flow charts
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Assisting the physician during exams
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Performing basic laboratory tests
  • Instructing patients about medication and special diets
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
  • Drawing blood

Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Pay Range: $24-$28 an hour

TB test required upon hire

Front Office Coordinator

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Front Office Coordinator provides clerical and administrative support to the center and its Medical and Patient Advocate personnel.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provide warmth and hospitality to patients and visitors.
  • Communication liaison between patients, Medical Staff, and Patient Advocates.
  • Facilitate patient intake and appointment scheduling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Coordinate and communicate the schedule with the night crew.

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm

Pay Range: $21-$25 an hour
