1: Lobby

The Purpose: Future patients will walk through our door and enter our lobby. Each of them has different needs, fears, hopes, and dreams.

The “threshold” or doorway had spiritual significance in the Old Testament. The Jews were commanded to write the divine name on the posts (mezuzoth’) of their doors (Deuteronomy 6:9). Doors were symbolically or literally places of danger or safety. Furthermore, the Bible suggests that doors are signs of deliverance (Exodus. 12:23) or bondage (Deuteronomy. 15:17). It was a place where God’s glory rested (Ezekiel 9:3; 10:4). Doors in history were locked or unlocked to Jews, rendering them defenseless or protected. By extension, the obligation to offer hospitality to the stranger by bringing him through the door of a Jewish home symbolizes the hope that God will carry each individual from bondage to redemption.

Please pray as women walk through our doorway or threshold that God would use our lobby as a place of safety when they enter through the front door. Pray that God would use our lobby as a place where God’s presence would be felt and that every woman would experience deliverance from any bondage they are in. Pray our lobby would be a place of protection. Pray it would be a place where women would feel cared for and our staff would display godly hospitality, providing hope for them and their unborn child. Pray God would open every single heart to the reality of life in Him. Pray they would also leave that same door finding newness of life in Christ and live differently from that moment on.
